He Holds All Creation Together
Colossians 1:15-20
15 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
16 for through him God created everything
in the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see
and the things we can’t see—
such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through him and for him.
17 He existed before anything else,
and “he holds all creation together”.
18 Christ is also the head of the church,
which is his body.
He is the beginning,
supreme over all who rise from the dead.
So he is first in everything.
19 For God in all his fullness
was pleased to live in Christ,
20 and through him God reconciled
everything to himself.
He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth
by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.
The above verse in Colossians is a beautiful description about our Lord Jesus Christ, stating who He is to all things made by him and for him. To us who believe these very words is not a stretch of imagination, but resonate in our very core the truth about Christ.
Jesus is the prototype for all humanity and it amazes me how so many in the world today deny Jesus his right as God of the universe, the creator of all things. In the above verse 17 it says that “He holds all creation together”, what a marvelous concept if you think about?
I have yet to see any evidence that proves evolution is true, science keeps looking for that missing link that shows that there is a transformation from one species to another and as long and as hard as science has searched for that link it evades them to this day.
But on the other hand what if science can prove that there is a link within all of us that ties us to God the Creator and our Lord Jesus Christ finally putting to rest this long time debate between unbelievers and believers once and for all... It's tragic that we live in a world that looks to science to explain creation and refuses to see the hand of God, even though science continues to scream to us that there is a creator.
Here is one of those examples where science is screaming that there is a creator if you just stop and take the time to think about what this evidence means.
If you haven’t heard about it, believe me you soon will. Thanks to a passionate evangelistic message now out as a video-
Louie Giglio - Laminin
A Microcosm of the Cross
DSL Video 56K Video Audio DSL Mac
The word about something called "laminin" and it’s spreading like wildfire. Pastor and evangelist Louie Giglio, founder of Passion Conferences and Choice Ministries has delivered an electrifying message, through an amazing confluence of events, Louie Giglio met a molecular biologist, who gave him a vital piece of information about the construction of living tissue. One that will, I believe should turn the entire scientific world upside down but whether they choose to believe it still remains to be seen.
In his presentation Louie first explained how with the use of the Hubble space telescope, that we have been able to search the cosmos with such clarity and distance in that the pictures we see coming back are just breathtaking to look at, and that truly shows the glory of God!
In one such picture he shows is the Whirlpool galaxy which lies perpendicular to earth that is why it is called the darling of astronomy, and gives us a beautiful and awesome display of what many believe is the most beautiful galaxy so far discovered and believe me there are hundreds of billions of galaxies out there, here’s a picture of the Whirlpool galaxy…
Louie went on to explain further that within the center of this galaxy the Hubble has discovered a black hole and a further observation of this black hole revealed to his amazement something very profound...
That's right what you see is a perfect shape of the cross of Jesus Christ some 31 million light-years from us, so now you probably asking yourself well what does this have to do with Laminin?
In the human body, we are all made of Trillions and Trillions of cells that compromise our body and all its intricate parts. What holds this vast body of ours together?
The biologist told him about laminin, a protein that performs the function of a glue, by which the structural matrix of living tissue is held together.
Why is it called laminin? This fibrous protein is present between the thin plates, or stacked layers of tissue, called "lamina," from the Latin, meaning "thin parallel layers." In English, we have the words "laminar," or "laminate," meaning "layered."
Here is a diagram of what laminin looks like in scientific circles...
That's right the protein that keeps our human body intact is shaped like the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, from the far reaches of our universe to the microscopic molecules of our human body the very symbol that represents the power of God is now making Himself known to the scientific world whether it be galaxies viewed through the Hubble space telescope or tiny molecules through an electron microscope…
Colossians 1:16

The Wisdom of God
1 Corinthians 1:18-19
18 The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. 19 As the Scriptures say,
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”
Many atheists and even some who call themselves Christians now believe that we are a product of the theory of evolution as the scientific world has so greatly embraced, they just can't seem to grasp that there is a divine creator that is responsible for our existence.
Colossians 1: 17
He existed before anything else, and “he holds all creation together”.
Think about it?
I think this is profound... and beautiful in so many ways. I have only learned of this recently but have already heard responses off all sourts, from it being an awesome coincidance to it being more like a sign.. a gift and another nudge for man kind to remember our history... and to walk with God on our paths in life.. I cant say for sure who is right.. but it's increadible, and as a woman of faith, I thank God for the things that remind people of him... even if they dont believe its him.. at least, he crosses their mind when they see such phenomina as that. God bless.. sarah
You make some very interesting points, and whether or not these things are coincidental (and I'm beginning to think perhaps not) I feel obliged to pick you up on your point about creationism. I am a passionate Christian, but that does not mean I will choose to be blind and ignore factual evidence. Evolution happened - there really can be no denying it. Surely you can see that this in no way diminishes God's glory? Rather, it enhances His perceived power - He can work through nature as well as against it. I believe the human race is set aside, sanctified, but why on earth would that mean we hadn't evolved??
I know the Bible tells a different story - I also know that it is thought that Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible, and the story of Creation is far more a parable, what the Israelites needed at the time, than an accurate historical account.
I'd just like to finish by reiterating that God's ability to work through nature (as demonstrated in the articles on the page) is just as great and magnificent as His ability to work against it.
God bless, Eleanor (15 yrs)
Hi Eleanor,
My apologies if it has been some time since you posted this comment as I have been away from this blog for quite some time now as I have other projects abound, for some reason may be the Lords will I am home recuperating as I have found out that I am becoming diabetic which makes me think about what you have to say about evolution.
You think that evolution is real and happening and the Bible makes no mention of such process in fact the Bible tells us that we are in fact deteriorating as we age we are growing older and our bodies are breaking down to the point that one day we die.
This is not evolution in the sense that things evolve into a greater being as much as those who believe in the theory of evolution as taught by Charles Darwin.
Why in fact as Scripture states...
Romans 8:21-23
21that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
So when you say evolution happened I'm just not sure what you mean precisely, if we are to evolve into a higher being it won't happen until the rapture of the Church when the body of Christ is changed and mortality to immortality that was spoken by the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15.
In the meantime everything disintegrates and ages until they become whether it be plants, animals, and people dust in the ground.
So without the hope of glory, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who is the creator of all things it will be only through him and by him through faith and not of ourselves that we will obtain eternal life which is truly an evolution!
Thanks for writing, you can find me over at my website. http://www.raptureview.com/
In Christ,

Hi Myles,
I only posted the comment yesterday, so thanks for the quick response. I'm so sorry to hear about you diabetes, may God bless you.
With regards to evolution, I was speaking of the Darwinian idea and its Creationist adversary. You say you have yet to see any evidence in favour of Darwin's natural selection - and whilst it is true that there remains a gap in the fossil records, the rest of the history of human evolution is intact.
My own personal belief pertains to 'intelligent design' - a Darwinian approach, but holding God aloft as designer and overseer. A well-cited point for this theorem is that of the eye - how can an organ so immensely complex evolve through sheer accident? The same holds true of the human brain.
The evolution of consciousness (being defined as awareness of self and circumstances) is a very interesting topic, and although not considered so much by biologists as philosophers, it is, I think, the key point for this argument. I won't go into huge detail, only wonder how is it possible for thought to come out of absence of thought? We know that life can come out of no life (bacterium, 'primordial soup' etc.) but consciousness, conscience, altruistic thought...really?
God bless,
Eleanor
Hi Eleanor, You just posted your comment and I have not been over here to check on this blog for such a long time and yet I really feel that the Lord put it on my heart to come here and I can see just why!
You signed your name with (15 yrs) is that because you are 15 years old, or you've been a Christian for 15 years I'm not sure, but that being said there are some comments you make that just don't add up to this 54-year-old Bible believing born-again Christian.
Colossians 1:15-20

You see Eleanor, Jesus is the creator God and he holds all creation together... meaning without Jesus all things would cease to exist, and that is literal!
Much of the Darwinian idea to me is truly bogus as this in my youth was an even a topic for discussion as the Bible is not a parable of myths and superstitions, it is God's Word and it is true and must be believed if one is a true Christian.
"And whilst it is true that there remains a gap in the fossil records, the rest of the history of human evolution is intact".
I believe there is an easy to understand explanation to this and it involves faith in the word of God, and all one needs to understand is the book of Genesis and how God had to destroy everything on the face of this earth with the great flood only saving Noah and his family and two of every kind.
Genesis 6;17-22
17 For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die. 18But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. 19And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female. 20Of the birds according to their kinds, and of the animals according to their kinds, of every creeping thing of the ground, according to its kind, two of every sort shall come in to you to keep them alive. 21Also take with you every sort of food that is eaten, and store it up. It shall serve as food for you and for them." 22 Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.
You notice the phrase according to their kinds that is the key to understand why we have a gap in the fossil records and that is when doing a word search using Strong's concordance we find that the Hebrew to Greek interpretation
is #H4327
מִין
mı̂yn
meen
From an unused root meaning to portion out; a sort, that is, species:—kind. Compare H4480.
I believe to understand this better is that of every living thing that God made Noah had to sort out of every species or kind Two of each and that to me at least tells me not all; meaning everything that God created was saved... "just two of every type of".
So fast-forward to the future as we began to compare what we know lived and match that up to the fossils of species left behind after the flood we can only come away with a gap of what once lived before the flood and what survived after the flood.
I hope this makes some sense to you?
Wow, your post really challenged me this time! (I am 15 years old to clarify =])
However, I do not believe that to be a 'true Christian' one must completely accept the Bible as historical truth. There are many differing Christian interpretations of different sections of the Bible - liberal, fundamental, conservative, literal - and each has their merits.
I want to say that I am a deeply passionate Christian, but I also have a passion for science, and I really believe that the two are irrevocably linked. God works through science (He created science!!) to achieve His ends. Jesus does indeed 'hold all things together', but it's just a matter of the manner in which those 'things' were created, and it is here that I reconcile my Christian beliefs with scientific evidence and fact.
Noah and the flood - this tale, I believe, requires careful analysing. Looking at the Greek roots of the word 'earth', we can see that it could easily have been mistranslated as 'country', giving the idea that the great flood was not so much global as local. This would tie in with evidence that we have that, for example, the Great Pyramid of Cheops stood 230 years before the flood, yet sustained no damage or water-marks at all. In addition to this, the atmosphere only holds enough moisture to account for about an inch of water worldwide. To cover even Mount Ararat, where Noah's Ark supposedly landed after the flood, in 40 days would require over 400 feet of water per day. And Everest would require 725 feet per day - that's 30 feet of water per hour! Some claim that the mountains didn't exist before the flood. But even Bible speaks of great mountains in the time before the flood. Were these great mountains mentioned in the Bible only a few feet high? (This information comes from the following website: http://www.epicidiot.com/evo_cre/noahs_flood.htm ... you might find it useful to look at the other information there also =] )
Back to the point - I understand how difficult it is to accept views which are the opposite to those you have been brought up with - for me, in a generation where technology and science prevail, it is not. However, I think it is crucial to weigh up all the information available before making a decision. The Bible is truly God's word, but did Jesus himself not tell parables (which confused many, even his closest apostles) in order to convey His message?
Wow! I don't know too many 15-year-olds to express themselves as confident as you do but just to set its record straight, I am very fundamental in my beliefs and by no means do I consider the a great flood to be a just a tail.
I see you believe that the flood was just local and not global, I for one come away with a different understanding that it was just as written that it covered the earth.
You write... In addition to this, the atmosphere only holds enough moisture to account for about an inch of water worldwide. To cover even Mount Ararat, where Noah's Ark supposedly landed after the flood, in 40 days would require over 400 feet of water per day.
May I show you what the Bible has to say that may open your eyes a bit more,
Psalm 104:5-7 (ESV)
5He set the earth on its foundations,
so that it should never be moved.
6You covered it with the deep as with a garment;
the waters stood above the mountains.
7At your rebuke they fled;
at the sound of your thunder they took to flight.
Genesis 7:11-24 (ESV)
11In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened. 12And rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights. 13On the very same day Noah and his sons, Shem and Ham and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them entered the ark, 14they and every beast, according to its kind, and all the livestock according to their kinds, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, according to its kind, and every bird, according to its kind, every winged creature. 15They went into the ark with Noah, two and two of all flesh in which there was the breath of life. 16And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him. And the LORD shut him in.
17The flood continued forty days on the earth. The waters increased and bore up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. 18The waters prevailed and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the face of the waters. 19And the waters prevailed so mightily on the earth that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered. 20The waters prevailed above the mountains, covering them fifteen cubits deep. 21And all flesh died that moved on the earth, birds, livestock, beasts, all swarming creatures that swarm on the earth, and all mankind. 22Everything on the dry land in whose nostrils was the breath of life died. 23He blotted out every living thing that was on the face of the ground, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens. They were blotted out from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark. 24And the waters prevailed on the earth 150 days.
continued...
What I have come to learn is that it was not just water that rain down from above it was also water that shot up from the deep beneath the crust of the earth and together it produced enough water to cover the entire Earth just as written, today we have our oceans as what is left from that great flood. Because before the floods came the whole earth was covered with a canopy of water so to speak that The entire planet in its pristine state this all evaporated with the flood both from above and below.
If you would like to learn more there is a theologian who I know very well who in his youth believed in evolution and attended Princeton University, it was at Princeton where Dr. John Whitcomb became a Christian and gave his life to the Lord Jesus.
Today Dr.Whitcomb is one of the leading theologians that speaks on Genesis and creation, you can learn a lot more from him with Biblical truths than I could ever teach.
